Mazda’s Shinari Concept Car

Surprising everyone, Mazda has put the wraps off to its new four-door coupe concept, christened as Shinari. Unveiled at a private press event held in Milan, Shinari sets a precedent for Mazda’s design language for all the future vehicles to come. This new design language is the fruit of collaboration between Mazda’s US, German and Japanese design studios.
With new front end design as well as the overall design language, Mazda has also coined a new term for its future design language – Kodo, which in Japanese means the soul of motion.
With its new design language and new four door coupe concept, it becomes somewhat clear that the brand is targeting the premium segment where similar vehicles such as the Aston Martin Rapide, Porsche Panamera and upcoming Fisker Karma already reside. It becomes more evident with Ikuo Maeda, general manager of Mazda Motor Corp., acknowledging that brand will also be improving the quality level of its interiors for future vehicles. The Mazda Shinari will make its public debut at 2010 Paris Motor show.
