Fall is the traditional start of the new model year for the auto industry. Many of the new models set to hit showrooms in the coming months reflect America's changing priorities after a spike in gas prices in 2008 and tough new emissions rules enacted by the U.S. government.

Watch-out for these nine customized Ford Mustangs
Ask any Mustang owner and he’ll say the same thing “I have fallen in love with my Ford Mustang”. Such is the charm of this American pony car that people want to bring their personalized touch to the Mustang. This year SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show will have the new 2012 Mustang Boss 302 along with the 9 customized versions of Ford Mustang. So let’s have a run down on these 9 customized Ford Mustang’s that are going to steal the lime-light at SEMA 2010.
Ford reveals Police Interceptor Stealth concept
After unveiling nine customized versions of Mustang, Ford has revealed the special police interceptor ahead of its SEMA debut. The concept will be on display in Las Vegas this week and is designed by ford designer Melvin Betancourt. The inspiration for the police interceptor concept came from the SR-71 stealth airplane used in the 1950s and 1960s to create a Taurus-based Police Interceptor that manages to be flashy yet still able to fly under the radar.
Knight Rider Ford Mustang K.I.T.T. Car
The Mustang will be auctioned off at a Hollywood memorabilia auction courtesy of Profiles In History. Valued between $25,000 and $35,000 the celebrity show car surely looks the part of a Shelby GT500KR Mustang… right? Wrong. Under the hood you won’t be getting a V8, never mind a supercharged version. K.I.T.T. 3000 sports a good ‘ol 4.0L V6 with a five speed automatic transmission. How boring.
Ford debuts its first ever Police Interceptor Utility
You remember FoMoCo unveiled the 2012 Ford Police Interceptor sedan back in March? Well, it has sibling now – the Police Interceptor Utility, based on the 2011 Ford Explorer. The first ever police utility from Ford has been developed with input from a Police Advisory Board assembled by Ford. The combination of Sedan and Utility version of police interceptor allows Ford to deliver a complete, diverse and efficient solution to all of law enforcements’ pursuit needs. The vehicle has been engineered to pass a 75-mph rear crash test and has undergone certification and track testing by the Michigan State Police and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
